Some details
Outside Online, the digital presence for the popular Outside magazine, was looking to provide a more unique user experience for their most popular section of the site, the Gear Channel.
Rebuilding the architecture of Outside’s Gear section allowed editors to easily reference existing content and roll out new revisions. A new responsive design was implemented by leveraging and minimally extending existing Sass/CSS
components.Following the launch of the new Gear Channel, page views rose 34% year over year, and “time on page” rose from 36 seconds to 1 minute 12 seconds.
Chromatic also introduced workflow best practices within Outside’s internal team and solved some infrastructure challenges resulting in a more streamlined editorial experience for Outside’s editors, more consistent code deployments for their developers, and a more beautiful user experience for Outside’s audience.
",I can',t recommend Chromatic',s work highly enough, to new and established Drupal sites alike.",
– Todd Hodgson, Site Director, Outside Magazine
