Introductory information
Could you briefly draw your organisation?
We’re the California State Lottery. We’re a sales and marketing structure that prepares lottery products to the players of California.
What is your position?
I’m the chief of application labors and the contract director.
Desired goal
Could you draw the business challenges you were attempting to address when you initiated the relationship with SolutionSet?
Initially, our open website was an extremely motionless, information only type of website. We wanted something that was going to be more interactive and more dynamic. We were looking for the forthcoming, something that was going to be able to support millions of players interacting with our website. We needed to be able to support all of our forthcoming sales starts.
The other big challenge for us was that we simply didn’t have the experiences and apprehension within our IT section to stay competitive in the online space.
Provided solution
Could you draw the aim of the project? For sample, did it implicate manner design, backend outgrowth, training, and ongoing support?
They designed and developed a open website that has one sign on cleverness.
They granted full support for our method outgrowth lifecycle. They created the visual designs. They conducted page reviews and usability assessments. They did backend outgrowth. They performed our implementation up until livelihood, which is what they’re currently providing.
How did you select SolutionSet as your solution associate?
We conducted a rigorous RFP process and evaluated multiple bids. There was a lot of interest, so we went through a wide process that lasted nine months or longer.
Could you prepare a perception of the size of this start in monetary provisions?
It was an $8 million contract during a three-year time, which ranged from conception to deployment to ongoing support.
When was the project completed?
February of 2012.
Results achieved
In provisions of results, could you share any statistics or metrics that would prove the effectiveness of the work they’ve delivered?
I don’t know the numbers off the top of my head. I don’t want to cite something that’s not careful. I don’t know how many millions of nation we have visiting the website on a daily basis. I don’t have those specific numbers, but it was a dramatic advancement, and our website is heavily utilized. It’s growing with each passing day.
In review, do you ponder that Sitecore sufficiently meets your business needs?
I would say sufficiently, yes.
How do you believe SolutionSet performed on the implementation of your CMS?
When they implemented that, we went through our regular process of user training and apprehension convey. We probably had some documentation from them, but I would call that more of an ongoing process as we establish out that we could mannerize items. There were some initial challenges. Part of that was probably just the apprehension convey using a new method and supporting a website that was antiquated.
Our online marketing cluster is also not very technical. That contributed to the initial challenges of learning how to work within Sitecore and apprehend it, too. Overall, it was a lucky implementation, and I was very satisfied with the terminal result. Challenges arise no substance what vendor you’re using.
When working with SolutionSet, is there anything you would attend sole or particular almost them compared to other labor preparers you’ve worked with?
SolutionSet has been an unappropriated associate. They seem to be extremely skilled in Web outgrowth. It’s been a very, very real relationship for us, which is different from some of the other vendors we’ve dealt with. They’re very professional. They pursue best practices in most cases, and that’s veritably their forte. It’s excellently plain that they’re very skilled at what they do.
In review, are there any areas that you ponder they could better upon, or are there things you might do differently as the client precedently approaching this type of project?
From the section perspective, I ponder that they would have liked things to be more on a deliverable base. Doing this type of Web outgrowth work is kind of an iterative process. That resources things can cost more than nation in the business, our mannerers, anticipate it to cost. That’s a real challenge. It’s just a constraint in the activity.
